Data Visualisation | InstalationThe Lonely Planet is a sound generated contemplation of our extinction. A lonely satelite, still functioning, where all others had long failed, beams back selfies of the earth, of empty cities where I had once lived.
There's something magical about seeing the earth through the eyes of satelites. No politics. No borders. No people to be seen.
The harshest places on earth are some of the most beautiful from afar.
It is naive to think we are facing an environemtal crisis. We are facing a crisis of extinction. Our own.
The earth can look after itself.
It is us who will become a mere memory, a blip in space time, if we continue to abuse the planet at the current rate. Perhaps our destruction will too look beautiful from above.
